Every nation and language
Isaiah 45:23 “I have sworn by Myself; The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, And shall not return, That to Me every knee shall bow, Every tongue shall take an oath.”
The Hebrew word for knee is H1290 – bereḵ, and have very interesting meanings which we looked at back in Genesis 48 (click here to read more). Knee also relates to be blessed, as well as being grafted in. Grafted in like a branch into a tree, or adopting someone into your family.
The Hebrew word for tongue is H3956 – lāšôn, meaning every language. This verse speaks of all nations and languages, just like we read in Revelation 5:9 “Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation” and Revelation 7:9 “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands”.
Astrology
Isaiah 47:13 “You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels; Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, And the monthly foretellers stand up and save you from what shall come upon you.”
The Hebrew word for astrology is H1895 – hāḇar, also meaning to divide or divination. It is the practice of seeking to interpret or predict future events. Astrology specifically uses the positions and movements of celestial bodies, such as the Sun, Moon, planets and stars, to forecast events and provide insights into human affairs and personality. Deuteronomy 18:14 says, “For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, YHWH your Elohim has not appointed such for you.” Another word used is “observer of times“, the word in Hebrew is H6049 – ʿānan. In Genesis 1:14 we read that YHWH created these heavenly bodies for “.. signs and for seasons, and for days and years”. Deuteronomy 4:19 “And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars — all the heavenly array — do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things YHWH your Elohim has apportioned to all the nations under heaven.”
What about the men from the East that came to honor the new born King Yeshua. Matthew 2:2 “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” We don’t know the background of these men. If they did serve YHWH, then YHWH showed them the Star, the appointed time to follow. If they did not serve YHWH, then it is just a testimony that YHWH can reveal the King Yeshua to any nation and tongue (language) and tribe. This does not mean we can follow Astrology and look for answers in the stars, as this practice is forbidden by YHWH, and is a trap that people fall into to trust the stars, instead of the Creator of the stars, like Isaiah says in this verse.. people get wearied by the multitude of counsels.. so they should then save them in the end.
