Seals / Mark
Daniel 12:4 “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”
It is no secret, that today we are living in the “age of knowledge“. With the internet, and especially AI, knowledge (whether true or not) is at the fingertips of everyone. This picture of many run “to and fro” for sure seems like our day and age in the 21st century.
Daniel and Revelation have been given much like a parts of the same story and book. Daniel doesn’t understand many of these visions, and it is explained to him. He writes it down, but to everyone for ages to come, these words are still a mystery. Then John sees the same story, and in Revelation 5:2 we hear the words, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” Some of the prophecies in Revelation and Daniel have already happened. As a matter of fact, when John got his visions and wrote Revelation, it was told to him in Revelation 22:10 the opposite that was told to Daniel, “Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand.”
In Hebrew this word seal used is Hatam H2856 – ḥāṯam, meaning to lock, faster up or even stop for a period, or make an end. The Greek word used in Revelation 5 is Sphragis G4973 – sphragis / G4972 – sphragizō, meaning an inscription or impression by which anything is confirmed, proved, authenticated, like by the name of YHWH on the saints’ foreheads. So the same seal word that is used to “hide the meaning” from the world, is also the same word to mark YHWH’s people with. In Revelation 7:3 we read, “Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.”
We read of another mark/seal in Revelation 13, the beast’s mark, greek word Charagma G5480 – charagma, meaning a stamp or an imprinted mark. It is interesting to note all will have a mark or seal, but the mark or seal will be different for the saints versus those who worship the beast. It is also interesting to note, that those who “Worship” YHWH on the days He appointed (Sabbath and His 7 annual festivals) is said to receive YHWH’s Seal (click here to read more from a post in Deuteronomy 6). So any other “worship” could be in danger of worshipping a beast system, that was setup to convince/deceive everyone to worship another day or way.

Resurrection
Daniel 12:2 “And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.”
In today’s age we are taught and even shown movies of “Raptures“, those left behind, a way to escape the end of the world. But nowhere in Scripture are we taught about these escape methods, except that all will be tested and we must all try to endure to the end. Back in 1 Kings 17 we posted about many stories of Resurrections happening, and the meaning of it.
Interestingly Yeshua prayed just before His crucifixion in John 17, “I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.” The greatest warning and heeds we have about the end times from Yeshua is in Matthew 24, verses 11-13 says, “Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.“
