Daniel 2:32-33 “This image’s head was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay.”

YHWH gives Daniel the meaning of this statue, and lays it out plainly:

  • GoldBabylonian Empire – Lion : Nebuchadnezzar to his grandson, Belshazzar
  • SilverMedo-Persians – Bear : Darius the Mede (Daniel 5:30-31 “Your kingdom has been divided, and given to the Medes and Persians”) and Cyrus the Great from Persia
  • BrassGreeks – Leopard : Alexander the Great from Greece
  • Iron – Romans (Entire Beast) – Dragon : Caesar Augustus (first emperor, when Yeshua was born, ordered killing of boys), Tiberius (when Yeshua was crucified), etc.
  • Iron and ClayRome and Christians : Constantine (321 AD, changed Sabbath to Sunday and mix Roman gods and idols with Christian in attempt to make one religion). Mixed in this iron and clay we have ten toes, which is the same as the ten horns from Daniel 7:7 and Revelation 13:1)
  • Stone – that breaks all the earthly kingdoms, Kingdom of Heaven ruled by One (Yeshua Messiah) Daniel 2:44 “And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever”

More visions and explanations of the statue, which is actually the Beast, and the Beast from Revelation, will be revealed in Daniel 7-12

Daniel 3:8 “Therefore at that time certain Chaldeans came forward and accused the Jews”

The first time we saw the word “Jew” was in 2 Kings 24, when Jerusalem/Judah was captured by Babylon (click here to read more). Scriptures since them, will talk about the Jews. This is because, that was the name given by the Babylonians and Assyrians. The Hebrew word used in 2 Kings 24 was Yehudi H3064 – yᵊhûḏî. Here in Daniel 3 we have the same word, just a different Hebrew Strongs number, Yehuday H3062 – yᵊhûḏay. Both meaning a Jehudaite or Judaite, a descendant of Jehudah/Judah. The Hebrew strongs number right between these two are Yehudah H3063 – yᵊhûḏâ, the Hebrew name for Judah.

Daniel 3:17-18 “If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.”

This is such a profound statement of Faith. To KNOW that YHWH CAN save us from the fire – and we all have to go through the fire. Even when we go into the fire, to stand so strong in faith, to not bow down to the things of this world.
