Genesis 41:39-45  Pharaoh made Joseph second in command. 

This will not be the first time where we see that a Hebrew is given great authority and responsibility in another country where the Hebrews are exiled. Just to name a few, Moses, Daniel, Esther, Nehemiah..  And with all of these, they are actually given other names.  They are to dress and look like them. They marry their woman/men.  Joseph even names his 1st son Manasseh – which means to forget, not just the bad and hurt of his past, but his entire past.  But YHVH doesn’t forget – and Joseph wasn’t lost to YHVH.  Even though Joseph suffered so much, his suffering was meant to save others.
