Tower of Babel Motive
Gen 10: 8 mentions Nimrod – the meaning of his name is “let us rebel”.
Tower of Babel : what was their motive? Gen 11:4 – TO MAKE A NAME FOR OURSELVES.
And YHVH scattered them and caused them to speak in different languages. The prophet Zephaniah prophesied that one day YHVH will return His people to Him and worship in one tongue/language again. Zephaniah 3:9 “For then will I turn to the people a pure(/clean/bright/chosen) language, that they may all call upon the name of YHWH, to serve him with one consent/accord”
Instead of KNOWING YHVH’s Name – and calling on His Name – people prefer to make a name for themselves. But in the end, all will call in one language and one accord on YHVH’s Name!
