YHWH's Creation
Hezekiah and the sun
Isaiah 38:7-8 “.. Behold, I will bring the shadow on the sundial, which has gone down with the sun on the sundial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward.” So the sun returned ten degrees on the dial by which it had gone down.”
From Genesis 1:1 we read, “In the beginning YHWH created the heaven and the earth“. From our post (click here to read more) in Psalm 134 we touched on, how YHWH always identifies Himself as the One who created the heavens and the earth. He will always reminds us of it, He is proud of His Creation! Throughout Scripture we are told about things about His Creation. Psalm 93 and 104 mentions the earth is fixed, on foundations, and it doesn’t move, and it cannot be moved. We are told a couple of times in Scripture of how the sun moves, or YHWH commands the sun to stand still for a couple of hours, or goes back. Does one read these things, and then just ignore them because it doesn’t make sense, in a world that tries to take away YHWH’s entitlement as the Creator and Owner? The world today teaches the big bang theory, that there is no God, the sun is the center our solar system and it stands still, and the earth is spinning and moving at incredible speeds.
In Isaiah 40:21-22 we read, “Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is He who sits above the circle of the earth..” Since it is so impossible for normal people to prove any of these things, it comes down as a matter of Faith. Some would say, this is not a salvation or even faith issue, but there is a movement happening the last couple of years where people are asking these questions. And when they start to really believe the Word of YHWH and His Creation Story, there is a big shift in their Faith on everything else YHWH also says. It is like your eyes are opening up to reality, and you start to realize WHO the Creator really is, and even WHERE He is! But when you swallow the lies and ignore the truth, slowly the blindness creeps over and it is difficult to distinguish truth from lies. Remember, ha-satan main drive and goal is to deceive, with lies, and come between the Creator and His creation.
Here is another little fun fact and food for thought… the sun has been worshipped by cultures since the beginning, like Egypt, Norse, Rome, Babylon, Greece, Persia, Hindus, Mayans, Incas, the list goes on.. For them, the sun has always been the centre of their world. Long before the Romans changes the Sabbath to Sunday worshipped, they have always worshipped the sun on Sunday (research “roman and persian sun-worshipping mithraists”).
In tomorrow’s post we’ll read from Isaiah 42:5, “YHWH El created the heavens and stretched them out. He shaped the earth and all that comes from it. He gave life to the people who are on it and breath to those who walk on it”.
Messianic Prophecy
Isa 40:3, 10-11; “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of YHWH; Make straight in the desert A highway for our Elohim. .. He will feed His flock like a shepherd;”
In the new testament, a man appeared that was clearly different that everyone else, preaching in the wilderness of Judea. The Jews sent priests and Levites to ask him who he was, and his answer was this prophecy quoted from Isaiah 40. John 1:23 “He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of YHWH, as said the prophet Isaiah”
