1 Kings 18:20 “So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel.”

Mount Carmel is primarily known as the site of a famous contest between the prophet Elijah and the prophets of Baal, that is why till today Mount Carmel is also known in Arabic as Mount Mar Elias (Elijah in Hebrew).

Carmel in Hebrew is Karmel H3760 – karmel, meaning “garden-land“, and is a mountain situated on the Mediterranean coast of northern Israel. The name Carmel is a compound of “kerem” and “el” meaning “vineyard/orchard of Elohim” or a clipping of kar male, meaning “full kernel.”

Meggido is at the head of a pass through the Carmel Ridge, and there have been already two battles of Meggido. A very significant Battle of Megiddo occurred between the Egyptians and Canaanites in the 15th century BCE. But only recently, in World War I, another significant Battle of Meggido took place, where British were in war against the Ottoman Empire.

The term “Armageddon” is a corruption of the Hebrew phrase “Har Megiddo,” meaning “Hill of Megiddo”.

Rev 16:13-16 “And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of Elohim Almighty. “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.” And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.”

Elijah is often portrayed as leading a school of prophets known as “the sons of the prophets”. Malachi 4:5-6 prophesies Elijah’s return “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet, before the coming of the great and terrible day of the YHWH,” making him a harbinger/forerunner of the Messiah. That is why, there’s a strong connection between Elijah and John the Baptist. Some, like Yeshua Himself, considered John to be the Elijah who would come before the Messiah (Luke 9:19, John 1:21). Elijah is also referenced several times in the New Testament, particularly in the Gospels. Elijah appears with Moses at the Transfiguration of Yeshua (Matthew 17:1-13, Mark 9:2-10, Luke 9:28-36). This event highlights Elijah’s role as a representative of the prophets and emphasizes the divine nature of Yeshua.  Also, in Matthew 27:47 it records with Yeshua’s crucifixion, “And some of those who stood there, hearing this, said, ‘He is calling Elijah.'”. This misunderstanding arose because Jesus spoke in Aramaic, and the phrase “My God, My God,” translated to “Eli, Eli,” sounded similar to “Elijah”.

Elijah’s name in Hebrew is ELIYA H452 – ‘ēlîyâ, meaning “Yah(for YHWH) is Elohim

Her Hebrew name is IZEBEL H348 – ‘îzeḇel, literally meaning to serve baal, “baal exalts” or “baal is husband to“.

Through the centuries, the name Jezebel came to be associated with false prophets. By the early 20th century, it was also associated with fallen or abandoned women, or an apostate masquerading as a servant of “God“. By manipulation and seduction, her name is used for those who misled the YHWH’s children into sins of idolatry and sexual immorality.

The “spirit of Jezebel” is a concept used in some Christian circles to describe a manipulative and controlling personality that is seen as a demonic influence. It is often associated with women, particularly those in positions of influence, and is characterized by deception, seduction, and the ability to mislead others into sin. Individuals are seen as using emotional blackmail, gaslighting, or other tactics to exert control over others, often under the guise of spiritual leadership.

Even Revelations refer to her, in 2:20, “But I still have something against you because of that woman Jezebel. She calls herself a prophet, and you let her teach and mislead my servants to do immoral things and to eat food offered to idols.”
