Psalm 108:4 “For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reaches unto the clouds.”

Back in 1 Kings 2:3-4 we read that when David gave the throne to Solomon, he basically gave him two instructions. One was to keep YHWH’s commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses; and the second to walk before YHWH in Truth with all their heart and with all their soul! In John 4:23-24 Yeshua said to the woman at the well, “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. YHWH is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

What is Truth?
In today’s world, what is truth, can be highly debated. There are various philosophical and social perspectives on how it is determined, some say that truth is objective and independent of human perception, while others suggest it can be subjective or socially constructed. If each does according to his own ways and definition of Truth, isn’t that the highest form of deception? Then that would mean there is no Truth.

Truth according to Hebrew is word Emet H571 – ‘ĕmeṯ, which also means firmness, faithfulness, reliability, stability, continuance, trustworthiness. The Greek word for truth is Aletheia G225 – alētheia, meaning a fact in certainty and reality, free from pretence, simulation, affection or deceit.

About deceit… in Revelation 12:9 we learn about the greatest deceiver “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Yeshua made this Great Statement about Lies and Truth, revealing that there is one of two ways – it depends who you serve. And if you are NOT a child of YHWH, it is almost impossible for you to hear, understand and follow Truth. He said in John 8:44-47 “He (satan) was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? He who follows YHWH hears YHWH’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of YHWH.” Before this Yeshua compared the Truth with Light, in John 3:20-21 “For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in YHWH.”

Psalm 111:7-8 defines Truth also, “The works of His hands are TRUTH and justice; All His commandments are confirmed (or in Hebrew “Aman” – same word as Amen). They (the commandments) stand fast forever and ever, And are done in TRUTH and Righteousness.”

Psalm 119:105 often quoted as “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” – If you want to know the Truth, you have to follow YHWH’s Words, like David’s advice – protect and keep His commands as written in the Laws of Moses. Even if you do not understand it, those instructions were given as a guideline – that is the meaning of Torah – “instructions“. If you keep them, it will be a light for you. You will then live in the light – and you will be found Righteous. That is why Yeshua came, is to show the light and reveal the Truth and satan has distorted with all the false teachings and laws of the pharisees, babylonians, romans, and every person who creates their own truth.

John 1:17 basically repeats Psalm 108:4, “For the law was given by Moses, grace and truth G225 came by Yeshua“.
