These Psalms are known as the “Final Hallel” or “Praise Psalms” and are characterized by their concluding praise to YHWH. From Psalm 105 (click here to read more) we learned a bit more about the word HalleluYah, which is two words : Hallel + Yah. Hallel, the Hebrew word Halal H1984 – hālal, doesn’t just mean praise, but to boast! To shine, give glory, celebrate, to almost act like a madman or fool!
The greek word is Hallelouia G239 – hallēlouia, and only appears in Revelations 4 times. Revelation 19:1 “And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; G239 Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto YHWH our Elohim!”
Everything Praise Yah!
Psalm 150:6 “Let all that have breath praise Yah. Praise Yah!”
This is the FINAL Psalm verse in most Bibles (there are actually more Psalms, and tomorrow we will share them as a bonus). But for these Psalms, it ends with Everything that has breath, praise Yah! We read all throughout Psalms how even things that doesn’t have breath, also praises YHWH. The word rather is that they are testifying, declaring and a declaration of YHWH and His Power and Glory. The heavens, the earth, the sea, the mountains and hills, the trees, even music instruments!
The Hebrew word for Breath is Nesama H5397 – nᵊšāmâ or nasam, rather referring to your soul and spirit! This also refers to wind – just like the wind, the spirit is invisible to the eye, but it moves and it is alive! In Psalm 63 (click here to read more) we looked at the difference between body, soul and spirit. The first command is to love YHWH with our entire being, Deuteronomy 6:5,
“And you shall love the YHWH Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might“! Psalm 146:1-2 proclaims, “Praise ye YHWH. Praise YHWH, O my soul. While I live will I praise YHWH: I will sing praises unto my Elohim while I have my being!”
In Luke 19:28-44 we read about Yeshua’s entry to Jerusalem, where the people sang “Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest” (verse 38). The Pharisees were very upset and tried to quiet them, but Yeshua replied, “I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.” What does this mean, the stones will cry out? It means, something will give and proclaim the Glory of YHWH, our spirits cannot keep quiet when in the presence of Yah. In the end, the Truth will be known, the Light will shine and all will know the truth – and it cannot be hidden. Yeshua said this himself when he taught the parable of the lamp, in Luke 8:17, “For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.”
