Amen - Believe - Faith
2 Chronicles 20:20 “…Trust in YHWH your Elohim and be steadfast, trust His prophets and prosper”. Other translations say “Believe in YHWH your Elohim, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.”
The Hebrew word for trust or believe is Aman H539 – ‘āman. This word we have covered a few times before, click here to read more. The first time we see this word in Scripture is where YHWH promise Abraham that he will have a child in his old age, and Genesis 15:6 says, “And he believed H539 in YHWH; and he counted it to him for righteousness.”
The word Aman means, to confirm, to stand firm, to foster, stand like a pillar, be faithful, be certain. We are taught by Yeshua about Faith and Believe the following in John 6:29 “This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” and John 7:38, “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”
The greek word for believe or faith is Pisteuo G4100 – pisteuō, which means to have confidence in, and to commit yourself to. The sister word of Pisteuo is Pistis G4102 – pistis, meaning to have a strong conviction. Matthew 17:20, “.. If ye have faith G4102 as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”
So if we re-read 2 Chronicles 20:20, “It says Aman in YHWH Elohim – Aman!”
