Grace
Deut 3:23 “And I pleaded with YHWH at that time.“
The Hebrew word for pleaded is HANAN (H2603 – ḥānan), meaning mercy, gracious, have pity! That is our YHWH!
Shema - Listen!
Deut 4:1 “And now, O Yisra’ĕl, listen to the laws and the right-rulings which I am teaching you to do“
The Hebrew word for listen is SHEMA H8085 – šāmaʿ, to hearken, understand and diligently do/show, perceive, declare/publish, obedient
The word, LISTEN/SHEMA is repeated 9 times in this Chapter 4! And 7 times in Chapter 5, and again repeated in Chapter 6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,15,17,18,19,21,23,26,27,28,29,30,31,32,33,34… and yes, it was in Chapters 1,2 and 3 as well! Perhaps Deuteronomy (Devarim/Words) should rather have been called Shema!

Translations and Contradictions
Deut 4:2 “Do not add to the Word which I command you, and do not take away from it, so as to guard the commands of YHWH your Elohim which I am commanding you”
5“See, I have taught you laws and right-rulings, as YHWH my Elohim commanded me, to do thus in the land which you go to possess.
6“And you shall guard and do them, for this is your wisdom and your understanding before the eyes of the peoples who hear all these laws, and they shall say, ‘Only a wise and understanding people is this great nation!’
7“For what great nation is there which has Elohim so near to it, as YHWH our Elohim is to us, whenever we call on Him?
8“And what great nation is there that has such laws and righteous right-rulings like all this Torah which I set before you this day?
9“Only, guard yourself, and guard your life diligently, lest you forget the Words your eyes have seen, and lest they turn aside from your heart all the days of your life. And you shall make them known to your children and your grandchildren.
Proverbs 30:6 “Do not add to His Words, Lest He reprove you, and you be found a liar.”
Yeshua himself said in Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to complete.
18“For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torah till all be done.
19“Whoever, then, breaks one of the least of these commands, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the reign of the heavens; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the reign of the heavens.
Bible Translations:
Since the 16th century, there have already been over 900 translations of the Bible into English alone! So far we have finished reading only 4 books of Scripture, and we have seen so many contradictions and translation issues. The fact of the matter is, there is NO perfect English translation out there! Many modern Bible translations have copyrighted their “own” Bibles, thus when someone else wants to translate the Hebrew Bible and perhaps fix some errors they found, they are restricted on the extend they can quote the correct translation – as it might be a copyright issue! According to the Bible Society in South Africa, they have posted a whole list of copyright rules : https://biblesociety.co.za/index/copyright-and-permissions/. One rule they have for example is, “The quoted verses may not, however, exceed fifty percent (50%) of a complete book of any of the Bible, or more than twenty-five percent (25%) of the total text in which they are quoted”. Again, the final fact of the matter is – there are so many copyrighted Bibles out there, it is impossible to find a perfect one. There are for sure some really good translations out there, but the only solution is to compare your Bible translation with the original Hebrew Texts! Perhaps purchase a Hebrew to English translation, or Hebrew bible. Otherwise there are many free online sources, like https://www.blueletterbible.org/ that we use a lot on this website for references.
The Noahide Laws:
The modern Noahide movement was founded in the 1990s by Orthodox Jewish rabbis from Israel. It is a fairly new concept, where the Jewish Rabbis believe that mankind is divided into two groups. The children of Israel and the children of Noah. The reason they divided the world that way is they said that, just as God had a covenant with Israel, He had an earlier covenant with Noah which applies to all mankind. And in that earlier covenant, God gave the sons of Noah seven commandments. Now, the funny thing about these seven commandments is there’s only really one place you can find them, and that’s in the rabbinical Oral Law – nowhere in Scripture.
One of the concepts in the seven laws of Noah is that Gentiles are forbidden from keeping the Sabbath. They’re actually forbidden from keeping Shabbat, and if they keep Shabbat, they’re supposed to be executed; publicly executed, given the death penalty.
The Noahide laws are obviously a false teaching not from our Father and Creator YHWH. After all, in Isaiah 56:6, it says, “And the sons of the Gentile who join themselves to YHWH, who joins themselves to YHWH, to serve Him and to love the name of YHWH, to be his servants, all those who keep Shabbat from desecrating it and grab hold of My covenant, I will bring them to My holy mountain,”
Astrology and Strange Signs in the sky
Deut 4:19 “and lest you lift up your eyes to the heavens, and shall see the sun, and the moon, and the stars – all the host of the heavens – and you be drawn away into bowing down to them and serving them, which YHWH your Elohim has allotted to all the peoples under all the heavens.”
The last few years, especially the last few months, more and more craziness have been observed (and heard) from the skies above us. For many more years before that people have been obsessed over the constellations, astrology and even something as simple as making a “wish upon a falling star”. But these are not things that we should be looking at, and being in awe of them. They are there for a reason and season, YHWHs’ way of telling us what time it is. In Jeremiah 10:1 we read, “Hear the word which YHWH speaks to you, O house of Israel. Thus says YHWH, “Do not learn the way of the Gentiles; Do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven, for the Gentiles are dismayed at them.” There will be signs in heaven, but do not be afraid of them. In Hebrew the word for “miracle,” and the Hebrew word for “sign,” is the same word. So, we’re dealing here with miraculous things. Yeshua said in Matthew 24 if we see all these scary things happening, not to be troubled, for “all these are the beginning of birth pains”
End of Days
Deuteronomy 4 verse:
27“And YHWH shall scatter you among the peoples, and you shall be left few in number among the gentiles where YHWH drives you.
28“And there you shall serve mighty ones, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see nor hear nor eat nor smell.
29“But from there you shall seek YHWH your Elohim, and shall find, when you search for Him with all your heart and with all your being.
30“In your distress, when all these words shall come upon you in the latter days, then you shall return to YHWH your Elohim and shall obey (H8085 – šāmaʿ) His voice.
31“For YHWH your Elohim is a compassionate Ěl, He does not forsake you, nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.
Latter Days in Hebrew is Yom AHARIT H319 – ‘aḥărîṯ, meaning the end part, prophetic for the last days.
So in the last days (not Babylon or Roman times… the END TIMES), everyone will be scattered. Only a few will seek YHWH with ALL THEIR HEART AND BEING. In their distress, these words will come upon them and they shall return to YHWH, and they shall obey (SHEMA)
Deut 4:35,39 “YHWH Himself is Elohim; there is no one but Him!!!”
IMPORTANT SCRIPTURES / PROPHECIES:
| Deut 4:2 – Torah – Do not add to the Word which YHWH gave, and do not take away from it |
| Deut 4:27-31 – Prophecy : End days – In the end days everyone will be scattered over the earth among other gentiles and gods, but those who seek YHWH with all their heart and being will have the Torah return to them and they will Shema (hear and obey). YHWH won’t forget the covenant of our fathers and won’t forsake you. |
