Witnesses : Heaven and Earth
Song of Moses
Deut 32:45-47 And when Mosheh ended speaking all these words to all Yisra’ĕl, he said to them, “Set your heart on all the words with which I warn you today, so that you command your children to guard to do all the Words of this Torah. “For it is not a worthless Word for you, because it is your life, and by this Word you prolong your days on the soil which you pass over the Yardĕn to possess.”
The Song of Moses declares who YHWH is, what He has done, what the people will do, and how YHWH will hide His Face for a while. It doesn’t matter in which season we are, we need to remember and sing and say the words of the Song of Moses, because our lives depend on it. It will prolong our lives (after-life) if we set our hearts on it, and think about what is to come, and be prepared for it. One day, this Song, with the Song of the Lamb will be sung together.
Revelation 15:2-3 And I saw like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those overcoming the beast and his image and his mark and the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, holding harps of Elohim. And they sing the song of Mosheh the servant of Elohim, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and marvellous are Your works, YHWH Ěl Shaddai! Righteous and true are Your ways, O Sovereign of the set-apart ones!
Father
From the beginning in Genesis YHWH has called Adam, Abraham, Moses and the Israelites His children. There are many references where Abba Father talks about His children and how much He cares about them! But this is the first time we read in Deuteronomy 32 where Moses has it written down, to call YHWH their Father.
Deut 32:6,10 “Is He not your Father, who bought you, Who created you and established you? ..He encompassed him, He made him understand, He watched over him as the apple of His eye.” However in verse 5 he says, “A twisted and crooked generation has corrupted itself, Their blemish, they are not His children.”
Yeshua came to show us YHWH our Father. Yeshua always called Him Father when He was talking about YHWH. In John 14 the disciples even asks Yeshua in verse 8 “Master, show us the Father, and it is enough for us”. Just like Moses had to leave, who became like a guardian for them, and taught them the Torah, so Yeshua also had to leave. But He made this promise in John 14:15-18, “If you love Me, you shall guard My commands. “And I shall ask the Father, and He shall give you another Helper, to stay with you forever – the Spirit of the Truth, whom the world is unable to receive, because it does not see Him or know Him. But you know Him, for He stays with you and shall be in you. I shall not leave you orphans – I am coming to you.”
The Rock
The one word that stands out, and is repeated in Deuteronomy 32 is the word “Rock“.
Verse
:4 “The Rock! His work is perfect
:13 And He made him to draw honey from the rock, And oil from the flinty rock,
:15 Rock of his deliverance/salvation
18 “You neglected the Rock who brought you forth, And forgot the Ěl who fathered you.
31 “For their rock is not like our Rock
The word Rock in Hebrew is SUR H6697 – ṣûr. See in verse 15 Moses talks about the “Rock of Salvation“. The Hebrew word for salvation/deliverance is YESHUA H3444 – yᵊšûʿâ. The phrase, “Rock of Salvation” is repeated a few times in Scripture. In 2 Samuel 22:47 “YHWH lives! And blessed is my Rock! And exalted is my Elohim, The Rock of my salvation.” Also in Psalms, Chapter 18 verse 2, “YHWH is my rock and my stronghold and my deliverer; My Ěl is my rock, I take refuge in Him; My shield and the horn of my deliverance, my high tower.” Also in Psalm 62:2 “He alone is my rock and my deliverance, my strong tower; I am not greatly shaken.”
Quickly back to Deuteronomy on this phrase, see what some other translations put it. Deut 32:15 , “and they treated the Rock of their Salvation like a fool!“
Truth and Faith (Amen / Emunah)
Deut 32:4 “An Ěl of truth (H530)” El Emunah!
The Hebrew word for truth or faith is Emunah, of which the root is Emun and Aman – the same word we use for prayers ending with Amen. See the following breakdown of the words’ meanings in Hebrew:
truth / faith – emunah
H530 – ‘ĕmûnâ – faithfulness, truth, firmness, steadfast, secure
H529 – ‘ēmûn – faithfulness, trusting
H539 – ‘āman – (Amen) believe, assurance, faithful, established, verify, fostering-FATHER, bring up/nurse, stand fast, surely will be
IMPORTANT SCRIPTURES / PROPHECIES:
| Deut 32 – Song of Moses: Prophecy – After YHWH became Israels’ Father and He took care of them, they served other gods. YHWH will hide His Face (v20) and they will be a nation lost to counsel (v28) but they should consider the end (latter end v29). Set your hearts on this song, the Torah is not worhless but is your salvation for everlasting life (prolong v46-47). Song of Moses and Song of the Lamb will be sung in the end, as per Revelation 15:3. |
