Pride
Exodus 5:2 And Pharaoh said, “Who is יהוה, that I should obey His voice to let Yisra’ĕl go? I do not know יהוה”
Ex 7:3 “But I am going to harden the heart of Pharaoh”
We see here that Pharaoh is FULL of PRIDE. He does what he wants and how he wants and when he wants… nobody is going to tell him what to do. We can see, we don’t need to be Pharaoh today.. most people feel this way today. Everybody is their own Pharaoh. So who is the God to tell me what to do? Our hearts are corrupted, and we cannot trust our own hearts. That is why David prayed “Search and test my heart of YHVH” (Ps 139:23). But Pride will trip you right over.. and what YHVH does – He gives you over to your hearts desire. That is what this scripture means.. YHVHs’ Spirit will leave you – and your heart will become harder, and you are left to your own will and desires.
Persecution
Exo 5:4 “Mosheh and Aharon, why do you take the people from their work? Get back to your burdens.” ; Exo 5:23 “For ever since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your Name, he has done evil to this people.”
Israel had a desire to serve YHVH and celebrate His Feast… and when they started declaring YHVHs’ name to Pharaoh and their desire to worship Him – they were persecuted. That is unfortunately exactly what you can expect.. the more you push to serve YHVH, and when you mention His Name – you WILL be persecuted. Israel complained.. and especially in the wilderness.. and YHVH did listen to them. But be careful to complain. You can cry and ask for His help – He will listen! Butbe careful not to complain and just seek the physical goodness of this earth. YHVH will meet you in the wilderness.
Exo 6:1 And יהוה said to Mosheh, “Now see what I do to Pharaoh” – give those persecutions to YHVH – and SEE what HE DOES!
Miracles
Exo 7:9 When Pharaoh speaks to you, saying, ‘Show a miracle for yourselves,’
The hebrew word for miracle is MOPET H4159 – môp̄ēṯ, and the way you pronounce it is mo-faith! Sounds exactly like NO FAITH!
Which is so ironic. Here with Pharaoh is the 1st time we have the mention of Miracles! So far, no one has asked YHVH for miracles.. not Adam, Noah, Abraham and his sons, not even Moses! They have been declared righteous because of their FAITH. Off course YHVH is the Mightiest of them all and He CAN and WILL and DID Miracles – even Yeshua performed many miracles! But the people wanted MORE miracles! They live on this show of miracles. Actually today in our modern culture, see miracles more like magic, but YHVHs’ “miracles” should rather be translated as “wonder (as a special display of God’s power)” And that is why we need to be so careful when people come with miracles, because they trick people with magic and deceive their eyes with a slide of the hand and their sly and slick words – that we get blinded and don’t see the truth, not even YHVHs’ truth!
Matt 12:39 (AND Matt 16:4 repeated) “But He answering, said to them, “A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign”
Rod
Exo 7:9 ‘Take your rod and throw it before Pharaoh
The hebrew word for ROD is Matte H4294 – maṭṭê, which also means Branch or Tribe. In previous chapters we saw that you can be grafted into a “branch” or tribe!
So YHVH has set in place His people called Israel, with the 12 tribes. And typical ha-satan – he will copy and attack with his own nations. So this rod that appears as a snake, and the Pharaohs’ magicians copied and they all made snakes! And here is the prophecy – YHVHs’ ROD/BRANCH will swallow all the other snakes!
