Isaiah 13:13 “Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of YHWH of hosts, and in the day of His fierce anger.” Another translations says, “when YHWH is angry.. at that time He will be very angry!

The Hebrew word for wrath is Ebra H5678 – ʿeḇrâ, meaning outpouring of fury, outburst or rage of anger.
The Hebrew word for fierce is Haron H2740 – ḥārôn, or hara, meaning hot, displeased, fury
The Hebrew word for anger is Ap H639 – ‘ap̄, meaning anger, wrath, nostrils flaring.

Some people talk about the God of the old Testament.. the one that is always angry.. a scary God.  That is why most people do not want to read the old testament.  People try to read it, but when they see this angry God – they decide to go back to the new Testament, where they don’t read about all this anger.  Did you also notice in the last few chapters, a couple of times it mentions how YHWH is angry? We keep reading, “For all this His anger H639 is not turned away“. In today’s world of bible teachings, the words you would rather hear is Grace and Mercy, Love and Kindness. So people don’t recognize a God that can get angry. The thing is, if you don’t read the Bible from the beginning, there are two things you will miss. No. 1 – Why He got so angry, and No. 2 – He also shows a lot of Mercy! He is not just a God of Anger – that is not who He is. He is an Elohim of Love and Mercy, a Father that wants to teach and protect His Children. All Fathers get angry with their children that are rebellious, but never for one moment does a father reject their children – well that is not what fathers are suppose to be. Fathers will get angry, but they will love even more!

There is just one reason why YHWH is so angry! Go back and read the book of Kings and Chronicles. YHWH was their King, but they rejected Him and chose their own evil kings. Kings who sacrificed their own children, killed YHWH’s prophets, and did every immoral thing imaginable. How easily do we forget the sins? Even in the times we live in.. we forget how sinful we are! We forget the things that we are surrounded with and not approved by our Father. But we just shrug our shoulders and demand mercy – we want to make the rules and live in darkness, and think it is ok with our Father. But still, for those who do want to live the right way according to YHWH’s way, see what He says in the same verses and chapters, where He is also angry:

  • mercy : Isaiah 14:1 “For YHWH will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.” The Hebrew word for mercy is H7355 – rāḥam, H7356 – raḥam, which also means a mothers’ womb, from the belly, or compassion. (click these links to find more verses on mercy). Other words similar to mercy is Grace (Hen H2580 – ḥēn), and Hesed H2617 – ḥeseḏ
  • fight for : Isa 14:24-25 “YHWH of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand: That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.”

Isaiah 13:19-22 “Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it. Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children. And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees’ excellency, shall be as when Elohim overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there. But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there. And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and snakes in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

Here is Isaiah we read the Prophecy against Babylon, shall “be as when Elohim overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah”. Jeremiah made the exact same prophecy in Jeremiah 50-51 “Prophecy against Babylon”, Jeremiah 50:39, “Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation. As Elohim overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith YHWH; so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.”

Today Sodom and Gomorrah, as well as Babylon still lies in absolute ruins. See the wonderful video links below, especially on “Babylon and the prophecies against her”, and then also the one about “Sodom burned – Zoar did not”.

Isaiah 14:12 “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!”

The Hebrew word for Lucifer is Helel H1966 – hêlēl, which really just means the shining one. The root word Halal H1984 – hālal means to praise. However the name Lucifer is only mentioned once in Scripture, here in Isaiah 14:12. And “Lucifer” is a Latin word, derived from lux (light) and ferre (to bring or carry), meaning “light-bringer” or “light-bearer”. The word was used in ancient Rome to refer to the planet Venus, the morning star. Latin words appear in the Bible but not in the original texts, which were Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, because translators were influenced by Rome at the time. Today Latin is not a language spoken by any nation, except the Vatican, which is home to the Roman Catholic Church.

Helel (or Lucifer), is compared to both Babylon and ha-Satan. From Ezekiel 28:16 we get an even better picture of ha-Satan, the shining one: “By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire”.

The stars in the sky represent the angels, Job 38:7 “When the morning stars sang together” and Revelation 12:4 “His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth”. YHWH placed each star in its place for a purpose. YHWH says in Ezekiel 28:14, “You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for I had ordained you.” Even in Revelation 1:20 we read, “The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches”. Daniel 8:10 we read, “And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.”

ha-Satan certainly wanted to keep his “star”-status. Have you ever heard or done the following, “wish upon a star” when you see a bright star or a falling star? This is a practice that come from ancient Greece. Even in places like Hollywood, people are made “stars“, and everybody admires them. Admiring stars is breaking one of the ten commandments, Exodus 20:3-5 “Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I YHWH thy Elohim am a jealous Elohim”
