John 17:6 “I made your name known to the people you gave me.”

We also often read Scriptures like these from John 16:23 “If you ask the Father for anything in my name, he will give it to you”. The entire John 17 Yeshua talks about the Name of our Father, and Yeshua’s own name.. but because of Greek Manuscripts, and our translators, nowhere in the new testament is the Name of our Father revealed, and they translate Yeshua’s name as Jesus .. even though Yeshua says here.. He has revealed the Fathers’ Name! So how do we know what the name of Yeshua’s Father is?

1. Yeshua taught and read from the Torah. The entire Torah (Moses’ teachings) and Prophets are full of our Father’s Name : YHWH. We have made many posts on His Name, click here to read more.
2. We know for a fact that the Greek Jesus’ real name is Yehoshua in Hebrew – there are a lot of prove on this. The short version of this name is Yeshua. But did you know, Yeshua’s OWN Name reveals the Father’s Name? Click here for many posts we have made about Yeshua’s Name.

Some of the things we have revealed in our previous posts about YHWH and Yeshua’s Name are:

• Yeshua’s Name in Hebrew is Yehoshua H3091 – yᵊhôšûa, which is made up of YHWH H3068 – yᵊhōvâ and Yasa H3467 – yāša, which means Salvation, Deliverer, Saviour. So Yehoshua (Yeshua) have the Father’s Name in His Own Name.
• In Exodus 3:14-15 the Father reveals His own Name: And Elohim said to Mosheh, “I am that which I am.” .. “Thus you are to say to the children of Yisra’ĕl, יהוה (H3068 – Yᵊhōvâ) Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Aḇraham, the Elohim of Yitsḥaq, and the Elohim of Ya‛aqoḇ, has sent me to you. This is My Name forever, and this is My remembrance to all generations.”
• The Hebrew letters that YHWH’s Name is made up of is Y (yod) H (hey) W (vav) H (hey). Each pictographic letter on it’s own has a meaning : Yod means Hand, Hey means Behold, and Vav means Nail. Thus the pictographic meaning says, “Behold the hand, Behold the nail“
• When YHWH says, “I am that which I am”, the words “I am” in Hebrew is Haya H1961 – hāyâ, which means Was or Came. It is the same words used when YHWH created in the beginning, Genesis 1:3 “And Elohim said, Let there be H1961 light: and there was H1961 light.” The same word just spoken with different vowels H2421 – ḥāyâ, means Revival, Alive or Saved.
• The word Haya H1961 – hāyâ means “Was”. The word Hoveh H1933 – hāvâ means “Present or Current, to exist or is“. The Hebrew word for “he will be” is יִהְיֶה (yihyeh). This word comes from the root verb hayah, meaning “to be,” and is used to express the future tense “will be”.  So when you speak the words Yah (Haya) + Hov (Hoveh) + Yah (Haya) = YaHoVaH. The Hebrew letters YHWH spoken says “Was, Is, To Come”.

Israel, and even the Pharisees knew that YHWH is their Father. But Yeshua came in the flesh to teach and reveal the Father’s Heart. He constantly called YHWH His Father, so much so that it irritated the Pharisees, even though they knew it was the truth. So in the end, Yeshua emphasised on the term “Father“, so apart from knowing the Father’s Name, we should also know Him (and truly know Him) as our Father.
