Joshua 10:10 “And YHWH threw them into confusion before Yisra’ĕl”

The word confusion H2000 – hāmam, which also means to destroy, to be vexed or troubled, break apart. We see this “confusion” was also brought upon the Egyptians when they chased after the Israelites into the red sea. Exo 14:24, “And it came to pass, that in the morning watch YHWH looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled H2000 the host of the Egyptians”

Psalm 42:5 Why are you depressed, O my being? And why are you restless within me? Wait for Elohim: for I shall yet thank Him, For the deliverance of His face!

Joshua 10:12 “Then Yehoshua spoke to YHWH in the day when YHWH gave the Amorites over to the children of Yisra’ĕl, and he said before the eyes of Yisra’ĕl, “Sun, stand still over Giḇ‛on; and moon, in the Valley of Ayalon.” So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself upon their enemies. And there has been no day like that, before it or after it, that YHWH listened to the voice of a man, because YHWH fought for Yisra’ĕl.”

Wait what? According to what the world teach us today, the sun is the center of our solar system.. they probably meant “the earth stood still”.  Or.. did the sun and moon really stood still.. This is a point where everybody should stand still.. and ask if they are going to question Scripture? Scientists don’t have a problem confirming that indeed, there was a day in history that the sun stood still. They claim it was on 30 October 1207 BC, over 3230 years ago. So whether you view the sun as the center or not, it is a pretty amazing thought to think… somehow everything in our creation that we live in, stood still!

Habakkuk 3:11 references this specific event, “The sun and moon stood still in their place at the light of your arrows as they sped, at the flash of your glittering spear.”

Joshua 10:13 “Is this not written in the Book of Yashar?”

The name Yashar/Jasher H3477 – yāšār means straight, upright, pleasing, straightforward. The Book of Jasher, which means the Book of the Upright or the Book of the Just Man or book of Just Ones, is a book mentioned in the Hebrew Bible. The title “Book of the Just Man” is the traditional Greek and Latin translation. Certain christian denominations, like orthodox and catholics, do consider this book as cannon, part of Scripture (some Bibles), where most protestants view it as a non-canonical book. Interestingly the book is contained in the Catholic Latin Vulgate bible, but the Catholics removed it as “canon” and thus it is not in the normal bibles today. Why would they keep in in the Latin bible which only they read, and keep it from the rest of society? The book claims to be written by Jasher, son of Caleb, one of Moses’s lieutenants, who later judged Israel at Shiloh. The book covers biblical history from the creation down to Jasher’s own day.

This book is also mentioned again in 2 Samuel 1:18, when David spoke his lament over the deaths of Saul and Jonathan, he began as follows: “To teach the sons of Judah [the use of] the bow. Behold, it is written in the book of Jasher.”

Other books/writings that are not part of the canon, or “normal bibles” today, but are referenced and written in the time of the old testament books, or were included in the Greek versions of the Bible (Septuagint), are first and second book of Esdras, and the book of Enoch, to name a few. Many of these books are included as canon in certain denominations, but then according to Catholics today, they are excluded from canon. Martin Luther who was a german priest and the leader of the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century, removed 7 books from the old testament bible in his time. Martin Luther also didn’t like, or questioned the new testament books like Hebrews, James, Jude and Revelation – and he placed them at the end of bible, like we have it today in most bibles.

Reading about so much death is not easy. When you read it in Hebrew however, you get a picture.. which we don’t get in other languages. We just see very strange names of place and much death. But imagine being told this story in Hebrew, knowing that they served false gods, practiced witchcraft and sorcery, great sexual immoralities and offered their children to their gods.. then each place’s name comes to life..
