Luke 22:39-46 “..When He came to the place, He said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.” ..He found them sleeping“

We also read this from Matthew 26:41 “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Have you ever tried to stay up at night to pray? Or even just 10 minutes during the day.. how easy our thoughts gets distracted.. Prayer is most definetly something that takes practice. And Focus. When we pray, it is our flesh and evil spirits both working against you, because the devil knows how powerful and necessary our prayers are. But we don’t know it, we don’t have a clue the power of prayer. Why did Yeshua pray so often.. and for long hours.

Back in Psalm 106 (click here to read that post) we explained the meaning of prayer, and how it relates to the word Judgement. In 1 Kings 8 we made a post on HOW to pray.. and a list of prayers in the Scripture. Yes, there isn’t just Yeshua’s prayer, there are more than 15 prayers in the Bible.

Have you ever had nights that you struggle to sleep… or, suddenly waking up between 12 and 5 in the morning and struggling to sleep, but comes 6 o’clock, you can sleep again like a baby? Did you know, that 3am is called the witching or devil’s hour? The world today say it is just a myth and fable, but when you find yourself in a spiritual war period in your life, you will know that 3-4am waking up for no reason happens quite often. The witching or devils hour got its name from the 1500’s when this phenomenon started, and they found that witches and satanists were the cause for very strange spiritual events happening. These people work in the dark, and they start around midnight and end before dawn. In 1535 the churches made a rule, that if they caught anyone outside their homes or even beds at 3am, they were accused of probable witchcraft. It was since these years that suddenly people were seeing ghosts and demons. The church couldn’t control these people, and today this is still the practice that continues. And interestingly, it is not just satanists that work these hours. There are other cultures like in Hinduism, where they specifically wake up at these hours to do spiritual activities, and to them it is known as a special and holy time to take advantage of meditation and yoga.

There are many videos and articles about “if you wake up at 3am”, that teaches that you need to pray then.. Like Yeshua said.. watch and pray. Your flesh will be weak, but you are not aware of the spiritual forces busy around you, and you need to pray for protection, and rebuke any evil spirits present. When you are lying awake, rolling around.. just try to prayer and focus for 10 minutes.. it is almost guaranteed you will quickly fall asleep, and sleep in peace the rest of the night.
