Open my eyes, that I might behold the marvellous beauty from Your Instructions ~ Psalm 119:18

1 Samuel 16:13-14 “And Shemu’ĕl took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of YHWH came upon Dawiḏ from that day and onwards. And Shemu’ĕl arose and went to Ramah. And the Spirit of YHWH turned aside from Sha’ul, and an evil spirit from YHWH troubled him.”

Here the translators mentions two spirits, one “OF” YHWH and one “FROM” YHWH. In the case where it is translated from Hebrew “FROM YHWH”, the same words are used in the following cases:

  • Genesis 19:24 – brimstone and fire “from YHWH” rained on Sodom and Gomorrah
  • Numbers 11:31 – quail “from YHWH” fell over the camp of Israel in the wilderness
  • Numbers 16:35 – fire “from YHWH” consumed Korah and all the others who joined him in the rebellion against Moses.
  • Joshua 11:20 – a spirit (implied) “from YHWH” strengthened the heart of the fighting men of Israel, enabling them to rout the kings of Canaan

Evil does exist, and YHWH even allows it to happen to Job. In Jobs’ case haSatan is complaining that YHWH is protecting him with a “hedge“, which is the protective Hand of YHWH. YHWH could destroy all the evil, but instead He removes His Hand of protection allowing evil. This is to show and remind that it is not our own hands that can save us, but YHWHs’ Hand of protection. When YHWH’s Spirit/Ruach leaves a person, he is unprotected and open for the evil spirits to dwell and make home in him. This is what Yeshua teaches in Matthew 12:43-45, “Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they enter and dwell there. And the last of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.””

David H1732 – dāviḏ , from Hebrew root word DOD H1730 – dôḏ meaning beloved, love like from a brother, father, friend. The word also means uncle. This word DOD is used mostly in Song of Songs, for example Sng 2:16, “My beloved H1730 is mine, and I am his

1 Sam 17:54 And Dawiḏ took the head of the Philistine and brought it to Yerushalayim, but he put his weapons in his tent.

Goliath’s sword, after his defeat by David, was given to David and became a symbol of divine victory. It was initially kept in the tabernacle, and was later retrieved by David when he needed a weapon. The sword was not used to kill Goliath, but David used it to cut off his head after defeating him with a stone.

“David asked Ahimelek, ‘Don’t you have a spear or a sword here? I haven’t brought my sword or any other weapon, because the king’s mission was urgent.’ The priest replied, ‘The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom you killed in the Valley of Elah, is here; it is wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod. If you want it, take it; there is no sword here but that one.’ David said, ‘There is none like it; give it to me’” (1 Samuel 21:8,9).

1 Samuel 17:51 “David ran and stood over him. He took hold of the Philistine’s sword and drew it from the sheath. After he killed him, he cut off his head with the sword.”

David is the offspring of Adam and Eve, and from him Yeshua was born.  Goliath is the offspring of haSatan, which we see in Genesis 6:2, the fallen angels came down and created the Nephilim/Giants.  From this we can see a prophecy being fulfilled, the very first prophecy given by YHWH Himself, in Genesis 3:15, “And I will cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.

There are etymological suggestions, whether true or not, but the uncanny similarity/analogy cannot be ignored.  It is said, the place where Goliaths’ head was buried (even for display/exhibited) was at the place called GolgothaGolgotha means “place of skull”, but is also a a contraction of “Goliath of Gath“.

Matthew 27:33 “They came to a place called Golgotha (which means “the place of the skull”).”

What is the coincidence that David crushed Goliaths’ (the seed of ha-Satan) head, and then on the place of skull, Yeshuas’ heel was bruised on the cross.  Not a fatal wound.  It might have seemed like a fatal wound to haSatan at that moment, but Yeshua rose again and walked again!
