Isaiah 24:5 “The earth is polluted by those who live on it because they’ve disobeyed YHWH’s teachings, violated His laws (Torah), and rejeted the everlasting promise“. Another translation says, “because they have transgressed the laws (Torah), changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.”

The Hebrew word for everlasting is Olam H5769 – ʿôlām, meaning ever, perpetual, ancient, always. In Genesis 9:12 when YHWH gave the Rainbow, He said, “This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual H5769 generations“. In Genesis 31 we read what YHWH says about the Sabbath, that keeping the Sabbath since Creation and “forever” is so crucial – it is a SIGN that you belong to Him (click here to read more on that post).

In Exodus 12 we read that YHWH institutes His Feast, the week of unleavened bread : “And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance for ever. H5769“. Click here to read more on the days YHWH called, which we have created an explanation of, as well as a calendar that you can download (under YHWH’s Calendar).

Isaiah 25:8 He will swallow up death forever. Adonay YHWH will wipe away tears from every face

This verse is famously quoted from Revelation 21:4 “And YHWH shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” But Isaiah continues and explains a bit more in verse 14 and 19, “The wicked are dead. They are no longer alive. The spirits of the dead won’t rise. You have punished them, destroyed them, and wiped out all memory of themYour dead will live. Their corpses will rise. Those who lie dead in the dust will wake up and shout for joy, because your dew is a refreshing dew, and the earth will revive the spirits of the dead. .. My people, go to your rooms, and shut the doors behind you. Hide for a little while until His fury has ended. YHWH is going to come out from His dwelling place to punish those who live on earth for their sins. The earth will uncover the blood shed on it and will no longer cover up its dead bodies.”

This is not a picture of “Rapture” as so famously is preached today. As a matter of fact, there are no scriptures that explicitly says that YHWH will rapture people. Instead, we get warnings from prophets and Yeshua to hide, to stand strong, to prepare and be prepared. These verses confirm this as well, “hide and wait it out – He will take care of you – but it won’t be easy“. It is and will be a test of faith. Yeshua even says in Matthew 24:22, “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened”

The rest of prophecy shows a picture of where all sin, and those who refused to return to YHWH, will die and “death will be swallowed up”. Then those who stood strong, even unto death, will live, on earth. The whole earth will not have dead bodies buried anymore.

Isaiah 27:1 “On that day YHWH will use His fierce and powerful sword to punish Leviathan, that slippery snake, Leviathan, that twisting snake. He will kill that monster which lives in the sea.”

See our previous posts on “Leviathan”, especially Job who likes to talk about it so much (click here to read more from Job 3). Here in Isaiah he makes a double statement, repeating the “slippery and twisting” nature of this snake. Other translations actually uses words like crooked and piercing. Let’s look at the Hebrew words. The one word is Bariah H1281 – bāriaḥ, meaning crooked, piercing, but also even to quickly try to escape or flee, trying to run away. The other word is Aqallaton H6129 – ʿăqallāṯôn, meaning crooked, twisted, bend out of shape, distorted. Interestly this word aqallaton and it’s root word aqal is only used once each in Hebrew scriptures. See the following translation from the other word aqal, and replace it with twisted/crooked/distorted, from Habakkuk 1:4 “Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment does never go forth: for the wicked does compass about the righteous; therefore wrong H6127 judgment proceedeth”, meaning the wicked’s law is slacked and they give distorted/crooked judgement on the righteous people.
