2 Chronicles 26:21 “And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a separate house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of YHWH”

Leviticus 13 goes into some detail on Leprosy, and we listed some detail and people who had this disease (click here for more).  The Hebrew word is Sara H6879 – ṣāraʿ, and the Greek word is Lepros G3015 – lepros.  It says that Uzziah lived in a separate house, and the general rule with people with skin diseases are social distancing or exclusion.  For example when Mirriam gossipped about Moses in Numbers 12, she was excluded from camp for a week.

These diseases, not just leprosy, but blindness, deafness, lame, becoming poor and even death are sometimes physical consequences to spiritual sin or disobedience.  The result is to exclude yourself from society so you can repent and turn your ways around.  Returning to YHWH and seeking Him and living according to His Guidance, can change your physical situation.  Even Job had to go through skin diseases, sickness, loss, and becoming poor to seek answers and being restored.  

Yeshua brought restoration as well, with teaching people how to return to YHWH!  In Matthew 11 He says to send a message to John, “Yeshua answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers G3015 are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.”
