Jacob
Afterward his brother came forth with his hand holding on to Esau’s heel, so his name was called Jacob; and Isaac was sixty years old when she gave birth to them.
Genesis 25:26
Jacobs name (H3290 – yaʿăqōḇ) means grabbing/holding on to the heel or supplanter.
The first time “heel” (H6119 – ʿāqēḇ) is mentioned, is off course Genesis 3:15, with the serpent that will strike HIS heel!
Verse 27 mentions that Jacob dwelled in tents.. In Hebrew culture this means he was a shepherd and he followed his flock to protect them.
Esauw / Edom
Then Esau said to Jacob, “Please give me a swallow from the red stuff—this red stuff, for I am famished.” Therefore his name was called Edom.
Genesis 25:30
Esauw was also called Edom. H123 – ‘ĕḏōm in hebrew comes from the root word Adom (H122 – ‘āḏōm) – which means “red”, and also relates to Adam H120 – ‘āḏām.
Also, the prophet Obadiah begins his prophecy in Chapter 1 about Edom – a generation known as those who think themselves to be wise/skillful/cunning/crafty/learned.
