ha-Satan
Genesis 26:21 “And they digged another well, and strove for that also: and he called the name of it Sitnah. H7856“
Sitnahs’ hebrew root words translate to satan. śiṭnâ – śiṭnâ – śāṭān – śāṭan. (H- for Hebrew, H7856-H7855-H7854-H7853)
Now why you might wonder would he ever call the place sitna/satan? That is because the meaning of the word is adversary, but more specifically ENEMY. Sometimes you would hear people, more Hebrew or Jewish orientated, would talk about HaSatan.. that really means THE Enemy. But if you just say satan, you are just saying enemy. As matter of fact, you will find 35 scriptures in Hebrew talking about satan – enemy, and they not talking about HaSatan. For example, Number 22:22 “And God’s anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the YHVH stood in the way for an adversary H7854 against him. Now he was riding upon his ass, and his two servants were with him.” That doesn’t mean that the angel was HaSatan.. the angel was his enemy. But translations today in english, for example the KJV only has satan in the Scriptures 20 times. That is 15 times missing, because those 15 times it actually talks about someones’ enemy. Psalm 38:20 “They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; H7853 because I follow the thing that good is.”
Actually, nowhere in the Scripture it mentions what HaSatans’ real name is. The word Lucifer is Latin, but the Hebrew word (which was switched for the Latin word) is actually Heylel. And both really mean – light bearer. He WAS the light bearer – but people still call him that, and that is really stealing from Yeshua – because Yeshua is our Light. So the best way to name him is HaSatan – THE Enemy – of our souls and of YHVH.
Covenant Share
Genesis 27:29 “Cursed be those cursing you, and blessed be those blessing you!”. This is the same blessing that YHVH made with Abraham – the covenant that is inherited. Abraham passed this to his son Isaac, and now it is passed from Isaac to Jacob. When Esauw also wants a blessing, this part of the blessing is not given. This is the double portion inheritance – Jacob got the physical blessing and the spiritual blessing, Esauw only got the physical blessing from Isaac.
This covenant is passed down to all who forms part of Abrahams’ descendents.. IF they don’t break the covenant. Remember a covenant works two ways still, the promise was given because Abraham obeyed and kept/guarded YHVHs’ Statutes (Gen 22:18, 26:5)
Remember Yeshuas’ words in John 15 “Every branch in Me that bears no fruit He takes away. And every branch that bears fruit He prunes, so that it bears more fruit.”
IMPORTANT SCRIPTURES / PROPHECIES:
Gen 28:20-22 Give a 10th Jacob commits to giving a tenth to YHVH – how or where does he give? Because this is way before there was a Temple or Levites. So many times we find ourselves in this position – we WANT to give. Later when YHVH gives the Torah to Israel, there are listed 3 ways that you can give your tithe. You can use your tithe for the Festival when going on the pilgrimage, you can give it to the poor, and you make sure the Levites are taken care of – so giving to the Levites – who are poor by default, as they are instructed to belong to YHVH and they have nothing, their lives are dedicated to the Temple. Today we do not have the poor Levites or the Temple. But many people are poor and in need today. There are many places in Scripture where YHVH does command to take care of your neighbors, widows and orphans. Those who are needy are the heart of YHVH. Yeshua even says, if you take care of the stranger, you are entertaining angels and actually taking care of Yeshua himself! |
Gen 29:31 Husband to love his wife. Love those around you – take care of each other. YHVH sees those who are unloved and rejected. There are many lessons throughout Scripture about this topic. |
