Lazarus, Death and Sleep
John 11:11 “Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up.”
The name Lazarus is Greek G2976 – lazaros, but comes from the Hebrew name Eleazar H499 – ‘elʿāzār, which is two words : El (for Elohim/God) and Azar H5826 – ʿāzar, meaning help or support. YHWH is my help or support.
With Lazarus “death” or sleep, Yeshua was speaking in the Spirit, and what seems to the world as “dead”, is not dead in the Spirit. However we are so trapped in our human eyes and worldly lives, that we are not aware of the spirit world. One would think the Hebrews understood this, as Scriptures are full of clues on this. Like in Job 14:12-13 “and man shall lie down and not rise. Till the heavens are no more, they awake not, nor are aroused from their sleep. If only You would hide me in the grave/sheol“. Those who teach that we go to heaven after we die is a lie.. because Scripture is full of verses that says our spirits go to sleep, hence the phrase, “rest in peace”. As a matter of fact, Scripture says in John 3:13, “No one has gone to heaven except the Son of Man, who came from heaven.” Also, Yeshua said about YHWH our Father, in Matthew 22:32, “‘I am the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac, and Elohim of Jacob’? YHWH is not the Elohim of the dead, but of the living.”” Yeshua had a whole discussion with Martha and Mary about death in John 11, telling them that “whoever believes in Me shall never die”. The death Yeshua is talking about is called the second death, the first death is for the body. But if we believe in Yeshua, we will never experience the spiritual death.

Light
John 12:36 “While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” Later in verse 46 it says, “I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.”
The Hebrew word for light is Or H215 – ‘ôr. Click here to see previous posts about the Light. Did you know, there was light on the first day of Creation, even before the sun, moon and stars which were set in place on the fourth day?! This same word for light is mentioned in Exodus 10 where the children of Israel had lights in their houses with the 10th plague of darkness. Psalms and Isaiah also talk about the Light a lot, and YHWH even talks about people who walk in their own light, meaning their own glory (Isaiah 50).
Today the word “enlightenment” is almost a buzzword, but this word came to power since the 17th century. They say it means simply, “Enlightenment is man’s emergence from his self-imposed immaturity.”, however it has way more deeper and sinister meanings. It is focussed on the self, proclaiming superior understanding or knowledge, either from a divine source or heightened human intelligence, hence where the Illuminati came from. A society that keeps its knowledge secret. The devil is out to deceive, and create his own false light to the world. In Isaiah 14:12 we read about satan’s fall, where he was called “Lucifer”, meaning he shone as bright as the morning star. Lucifer means “bearer of light“, but he was suppose to show the glory/light of YHWH, instead he made the glory his own.
Yeshua came to show us again the Glory of his Father, the true Light. We have to be aware, and choose carefully which light we follow and believe in, to become sons of Light.
