Words

Proverbs 10:11 “the mouth of a righteous person is a fountain of life“. Another translation says, “The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life”.

Right from the start in Genesis with the Creation, the power of Words brought life! Genesis 1:3, “And Elohim said, Let there be light”! From this verse in Proverbs 10, the Hebrew word for Life is Hay H2416 – ḥay, meaning Flowing, Alive, Reviving, Living, like a beast/creature, running! This word is also used in Genesis 1, verse 20 “And Elohim said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, H2416

From the Proverbs 10 verse, the Hebrew word for Fountain is Maqor H4726 – māqôr, meaning Source, Flow, Spring. The word has a lot to do with Blood, Birth and also Joy! Words holds the power of either life or death, as mentioned later in Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

In today and even tomorrow’s Bible Study from Proverbs, see some of the things said about Words:

  • Not Good Words : Hatred cause lying. Slander. Gossips. Quarraling. Sin is unavoidable when there is much talk. Careless words stab like a sword. Lies last only a moment. Foolish minds preach stupidity. Big mouths bring ruin. A deceitful tongue breaks the spirit.
  • Wisdom : Whoever seals his lips is wise. A person who has understanding keeps quiet. A trustworthy spirit can keep a secret. Words of wise people bring healing. The word of truth lasts forever. Joy belongs to those who advise peace. A sensible person discreetly hides knowledge. Encouraging words make people joyful! Whoever controls his mouth protects his life. A soothing tongue is a tree of life

Yeshua Himself, His Words is a Living Well of Water, He said in John 4:14 “But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” And in John 7:37-38 “In the last day, that great day of the feast, Yeshua stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

Have you ever heard of Dr. Emoto experiment on words on water, and his book on “hidden messages in water”. It is just fascinating proof that words indeed cause life or death and go beyond our human minds’ understanding. Below is a link to a video where a person tested this theory.

Jeremiah 2:13 “For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain H4726 of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.”
